Doctors

Dr. Stephen Simpson grew up in Evansville and graduated from Harrison High School in 1988. He received his Biology degree from the University of Southern Indiana in 1992 and his Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1996. After graduation, Dr. Simpson joined Dr. Gregg and Dr. Emhuff at their westside practice. Steve and his wife Lori have four children: Ashley, Adam, Logan and Tyler. They enjoy traveling, watching their kids play sports and spending time as a family.

Dr. Allyson Bigham received her bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University in 1999 and her Optometry degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry in 2003. She started with Westside Family Eyecare immediately after graduation and has enjoyed establishing relationships with partners, staff and loyal patients. She is married to Clay Bigham, also an optometrist in Evansville. Together, they have five children who attend school on the west side of Evansville. They are active in sports, attend First Christian Church of Evansville and enjoy camping.

Dr. Melanie Happe was born and raised in Evansville. She attended both undergraduate and graduate school at Indiana University Bloomington. She graduated with her bachelor’s of Science in Biology in 2009 and Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2015. She joined Westside Family Eyecare in 2015. Dr. Happe was recently married, so you may know her as Dr. Behrend!
